6-Week Throwing Course - Form & Refinement

£360 | 4-5 participants | 6 sessions, 2.5 hours per session

This course is designed for practicing beginners and intermediate throwers who want to build on their foundation and explore more technical aspects of wheel throwing, helping you shape with greater intention.

We’ll begin by revisiting key techniques, including clay preparation and the essential theory behind creating cylinders and bowls. From there, we’ll move on to more advanced skills, such as throwing larger forms, making lids and galleries, creating more complex shapes, and refining precision — all tailored to the group’s interests.

This course is about taking foundational techniques to the next level — refining your control, improving your technique, and adding finesse to your practice.

With a small group, we’ll adjust the course to suit everyone’s needs, allowing for individual progression and skill development at your own pace.

All materials are provided, and you’re free to make as many pots as you like. For any work you'd like to keep and have fired, there’s a small charge of £5 per kilo (includes glazing and two firings).

Please bring your own apron, and ensure your nails are trimmed short before the class.

The studio is just an 8-10 minute walk from Lee Bridge Station, or you can take bus numbers 55 or 56 and get off at the nearby stop (Perth road). The W19 bus stops nearer to the studio, which you can take from Walthamstow.

Refunds & Cancellations

As a small independent pottery studio run solely by me, changes can make it challenging to manage the studio smoothly. Refunds and rescheduling are only available up to 14 days before the start of the class.
